About the Speaker
Prior to assuming the position of Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Irvin B. Nathan was the General Counsel of the United States House of Representatives, where he served from November 2007 until January 2, 2011. He has also previously served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice. For more than 30 years, Mr. Nathan practiced with the Washington, DC law firm of Arnold and Porter, where he was a senior litigating partner and head of the firm’s white-collar criminal defense practice. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University Law School.
