A new Jewish social justice resource exists in cyber-land!

On1Foot is a text-bank for Jewish social justice texts of all kinds. Search for texts by subject and by era... build source sheets and leave comments.

On1Foot is a project of the American Jewish World Service and a number of co-sponsors. Check it out at http://www.on1foot.org/.

Cooking, Delivering, and Serving at Watkins Mill Transitional Shelter
Ongoing
Watkins Mill Transitional Shelter is a group home for up to 8 formerly homeless women who live with mental illness. It is located in Montgomery Village. The staff and residents of the shelter are looking for caring and compassionate people who are willing to bring in the food, and cook and serve dinner (for 10 including staff). They have a four burner stove, two ovens and two refrigerators in a decent sized kitchen. They also have pots and pans, and dishes & flatware. If you needed something special, you might want to check with them to see if they have it available. They would like to have dinner served around 6:30PM. They request that foods prepared not be too spicy, have no pork, and include vegetables.

Kehilat Shalom coordinates some volunteers for WMTS, but the need exceeds their capacity. If you'd like to help, or for more information about volunteering, please contact Billye at (billye.roberts@gmail.com).

For more information about the Kehilat Shalom program at WMTS, please visit http://www.kehilatshalom.org/watkins.mill.shelter.html.
