Greater Washington Community

Interfaith Service & Solidarity Gathering

In memory of the victims and in honor of the wounded of
Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA.

Thank you to all who joined the JCRC and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington on Monday, October 29th for the Community Interfaith Service and Solidarity Gathering. And thank you to our gracious hosts and friends at Adas Israel Congregation for welcoming us all.

It was incredibly moving, inspiring, and empowering to come together as one community as we remembered the victims and prayed for a quick recovery for the wounded of the Tree Of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. We were honored to welcome 5,000 people who gathered in person, both inside and outside of Adas Israel Congregation, and more than 21,000 who spent their evening with us virtually via the livestream.

Together, we will continue to stand strong.

The Jewish Federation’s Communal Security Fund

To meet the immediate security concerns in our community, The Jewish Federation has guaranteed a minimum of $100,000 towards emergency grants to synagogues and other Jewish organizations that are struggling to afford security. Donations to support this effort may be made to Federation’s Communal Security Fund to ensure that every community member feels safe in their places of gathering and worship. 100% of your gift will go towards meeting the immediate security needs of the synagogues and organizations serving our local community.
