Local Government Relations The JCRC's Maryland, Northern Virginia and District of Columbia Commissions partner with local and state organizations to reach out to government officials at the federal, state and local levels to advance the legislative agenda of the the Jewish community in Metropolitan Washington: government funding for our agencies' programs, tax policy as it affects nonprofit organizations, support for Israel, and community relations issues such as anti-Semitism and church-state relations.
Advocate for Israel The JCRC coordinates our community's response to Middle East issues, from advocating support of Israel to political leaders and the media to educating the community through regular briefings and programs. Find out more.
Darfur Since February 2003, the Sudanese government’s genocidal campaign in Darfur has claimed over 400,000 lives, led to countless rapes, and driven 2.5 million people from their homes. The Jewish community has been at the forefront of the campaign to end this tragedy. Join in our efforts!
Holocaust The educational mission of the JCRC's Holocaust Commission is to promote an understanding of uniqueness and magnitude of the Holocaust, its consequences and critical lessons; serve as a resource for students, teachers and other members of the Greater Washington community to learn about the Holocaust, racism, genocide and the dangers of prejudice; and help members of the Greater Washington community apply the lessons of the Holocaust and other historical events to the moral decisios they make in their own lives.
