The JCRC advocates and acts on issues at the local, state and federal levels to advance Jewish concerns in the public arena, seeking to impact public policy and foster a society based on freedom, justice and democratic pluralism. As a major voice of the Jewish community in the nation’s capital, the JCRC: Supports the public policy and funding priorities of the Jewish community and its partners through advocacy, coalition-building and community education; Convenes programs on selected issues of concern to our community; Writes and encourages constituents to write op-eds and letters to the editor; Convenes candidate forums; Arranges meetings between elected officials and Jewish community members both in their home districts and in their government offices to discuss policy and funding priorities; and Convenes and mobilizes the Jewish community in times of celebration, commemoration and crisis.
