The greatness of our society is predicated on diversity, which requires mutual tolerance and respect among all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. Enhancing intergroup relations in Metropolitan Washington’s diverse communities is a major priority for the JCRC, which is particularly active in inter-religious, inter-racial, and interethnic affairs.

The JCRC strives to build strong relationships with faith, ethnic and minority communities in Metropolitan Washington and is engaged in both formal and informal dialogues with leaders in these communities. The JCRC is a board member of the Virginia Interfaith Center and a member of the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington and the Maryland Interfaith Legislative Committee.

intergroup Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity (Psalm 133).

Building New Community in Inter-Faith Dialogue
Come join us in an exceptional opportunity for sustained dialog with Baha’i, Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Jain, Jewish, Latter-day Saints, Protestant, Roman Catholic, Sikh or Zoroastrian neighbors in the North Bethesda and Rockville areas.

Our facilitators are experienced and trained in deep interfaith dialogue: Rabbi Sarah Meytin (Jewish) and Dr. D. C. Rao (Hindu)

8 dialogue sessions, meeting weekly on Thursdays, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm from June 26 to August 14
at a venue (tbd) in north Bethesda/Rockville

Sustained Dialogue is designed to:
*share your experience with others and learn from theirs
*find what your religion truly has in common with theirs
*learn about differences which allow you to grow in your spirituality and faith
*lay a rich foundation for change in our society

This kind of talking is really a way of walking into “Beloved Community”
